Welcome to the Website for Room Nine Kids and Their Families!

Get ready to use some great educational technology!

     Of course, you're still going to have to do your homework, but in Mrs. Dunbar's class, you'll learn all those state standards through interactive lessons using multimedia resources. Sometimes we'll be going to websites, sometimes we'll be watching QuickTime videos, sometimes we'll be using that cool InterWrite Pad with all the neat math games. Sometimes we'll even do our reports and projects on the computer!  And this year, we'll be creating our own video & audio podcasts to put up on iTunes!  With the Enhancing Education Through Technology grant, which we just received two years ago, and with our eInstruction $75,000 Global Classroom Makeover Grand Prize package from 2010, we'll be enjoying the benefits of wireless student laptops, a student response system, Mobi boards, a new projector & sound system and many, many other cool tech tools to help us grow academically while increasing our technology literacy and Science know-how!

     Of course, there will still be time when you need a Number Two pencil!

     Whatever the format, you're going to learn everything you need to learn and then some during your time in Room Nine!

You already know that Fifth grade was ALL about the times tables!  Nearly everything we do -- from reducing fractions to finding the mean to calculating area involves multiplication.  And you signed a promise to Mr. Kim (which we hand-delivered to him) that you would know your times tables WELL by the time you enter his class in August!  So to help you keep your skills sharp, here are some websites that should help you learn them forward & backward!
